I really wanted to love this book because I have loved so many of Shannon Hale’s other books from the books I’ve had to venture into the Children’s section to buy and Austenland her last “adult” endeavor. I just really had a hard time connecting to this book, I don’t know if it’s because every time Becky started talking about her Mormon church events I was distracted or if it’s because the happy back and forth between Becky and Felix often felt a little too forced for me.
Oh well, you can’t win them all and frankly I think the fact that Shannon Hale was able to turn an idle day dream into such a well developed book says something about her skill as an author. I’m looking forward to see what she comes up with next.
