This book was a light and enjoyable romp – the story of Faust, re-imagined so that the devil is dealing with children. Apparently, Mephistopheles is seeking global domination by making a select group of teens rise through the ranks of humanity to become power players. It’s difficult to like some of the main characters of the book, they entered into a deal with the devil knowing what they are getting into, knowing that they will do anything that it takes to get the things that they want. I was also a little disappointed that the characters who were redeemed paid such a steep price. I wanted them to not only be redeemed but be restored somehow, wishful thinking, I know.
